November is Backpacking

Our November camping trip is a backpacking trip. We will be starting at the TOP of Pilot Mountain and backpacking approximately 10 miles. This is a great time of year to be in the woods to enjoy the Fall colors.

Declare night is October 28th.

Summer 2009

Our scouts are off this summer to summer camp. Troop 212 is pleased to offer two opportunities to attend a week at scout camp. Hopefully this will work out with our scout's school schedule.

Family Picnic

Annual Planning Meeting

Our annual planning meeting takes place this Sunday, May 31st. Be a part of what the troop does next year. Come help us plan. We start at 2:00pm at the Biegert house.

2009 Merit Badge Changes

Each year BSA reviews and revises requirements for merit badges. Beginning January 1, 2009 the following merit badges have been updated:

Landscape Architecture

Official requirements are published in the book "Boy Scout Requirements 2009". Scouts that have a partial completion or have started work on the above merit badges may choose to complete the merit on either the new or previous requirements. Scouts must choose one set or the other.

Grand Lodge to Open

Scout Sunday February 1st

Troop 212 will be participating in the Scout Sunday service at the 10:30am Mass at St. Michael Church. All scouts are welcome to participate in the service by attending. Please be in class A uniform.

Scout Sunday for Methodists will be held on February 8th.

New BSA Medical Form

Class 1, 2 and 3 medical forms have been replaced by a new combined form. This year as you get your medical evaluation please be sure to use the new form and fill out all parts.

SPL Elections

Senior Patrol Leader elections will be held at the February 4th meeting.

All scouts interested in any troop leadership position should first read the "Job Description" document on our website. You may find the document here.

The new term begins on March 1st, 2009.

Order of the Arrow Elections

Order of the Arrow elections will be held at the February 4th meeting. All OA members should wear their OA sash to this meeting. Come and place your votes for the scouts that you believe should be new members.

Annual Turkey Fry is December 13th

Join us on Saturday December 13th for some deep fried turkey. This is our annual turkey fry when we host an outdoor activity for Webelos. This is their chance to visit the troop in a different setting. Its everyone's chance to eat turkey!

Same park but different location. We will be at the Buehler Shelter beginning at 9:00am. Scouts should be in class A uniform and please bring a side dish.

We are hitting the slopes in January

Our January trip is a return of the family ski trip to Winterplace in Flat Top, WVA. The dates are January 16-18th. We will be camping gymnasium style at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church in nearby Beckly, WVA.

The price per skier is $78 which includes all meals on Saturday, January 17th. Non skiers is $15 to cover meals.

Come work off the holiday pounds!

We are climbing the walls in December

Our December outing is a troop favorite. We will be at the Triangle Rock Club in Morrisville for an overnight climbing lock in. Details will follow but it will be fun. We will have pizza, sodas and lots of fun.
